Blizzard in the Southwestern Plains. This storm is expected to dump snow through Tuesday night. If you’re prepped, a blizzard can be cozy. Just be sure you’re able to provide heat if you lose power. If you’re stuck in a vehicle, beware of carbon monoxide poisoning. Snow drifts can block the exhaust; if you run the engine to keep warm, the fumes might enter the car and kill you. Cold weather tips.

NDAA a tool for total martial law. Alex Jones is warning that the NDAA, in addition to allowing indefinite detention of American citizens, also lays the framework of total martial law, including the annexation of all internet properties.

Copper thief fail. The video doesn’t show exactly why he fell, but it might be that he didn’t know how to tie the Zeppelin Bend. That would have held his ropes together.

Government to monitor all internet activity via new Cybersecurity bill. This is what happens when you entrust the state with your protection. Look for your security to actually decrease — be prepared.

Nine years of off-grid living. A great article from survivalblog.com. Basically, this guy’s cost of installing his solar panels and propane generator were amortized over 9 years against the cost of installing and using electricity from the grid.

Incandescent bulbs get a reprieve. The 100-watt incandescent bulb was going to be banned starting Jan.1, but in the temporary $1 Trillion spending bill, Congress has given them an undetermined life extension. Sensible decision, but at a cost of $1 Trillion?

Three things you’ll need when the banking system collapses. Interesting article syndicated at Before It’s News.

It’s being reported that the Mormon cannery raid in TN is a fabrication. Oathkeepers originally reported that federal agents had demanded customer lists from a food storage facility in TN. OK has retracted the story, stating that their original source is now refusing to stand by the claim.

Gun sales up 32% more than this time three years ago. If Obama gets re-elected, he’s going to implement the biggest crackdown on civilian firearm ownership ever seen in this country. His administration has already mounted a criminal assault on the Second Amendment — Fast and Furious. SnoMan’s recommendation — buy guns and ammo. Be sure you have some unregistered guns — that is, you need to buy some in private sales so you have some guns the government doesn’t know about. Then hide at least one.

Reuters pumps “good” economic news for the administration. Reuters is reporting three-and-a-half year low on jobless claims, but drilling deep into the story shows how bogus this is. First, the drop relates to federal claims — state jobless claims are up. Second, this is an estimate — look for upward revisions next month, buried on page 96 in a footnote, as they’ve done every month since Obama announced his first-term candidacy. Third, last month the government revised the definition of “out of work” so as to reduce the number. The government has simply redefined thousands of out-of-work people as “not unemployed,” even though they still have no job. Thousands of people have given up trying to find a job and gone to the public trough. These people still have no job and are being subsidized by working people, yet they are not counted as unemployed.

Indefinite detention without trial is OK with Obama… and the Republican House. The White House has approved the National Defense Authorization Act which, among other things, allows suspected terrorists to be indefinitely detained without trial. Now look for an ever-expanding definition of “terrorist” to include violence against government personnel or property, and even criticism of government policy.

Coming Soon to SNO — We’re working on two great new articles. First, we’ll publish an article about the Zeppelin (or Rosendahl) Bend. Second, we’ll have another suppressor comparison to join our most popular of all YouTube videos. Stay tuned!

Ron Paul closing on Gingrich in Iowa polls. It’s no wonder — he’s the only candidate with a dedicated, consistent focus on liberty. Only his unpopular non-interventionist foreign policy is holding him back. But if he wins the nomination, look for the Republican establishment to run an independent — they’d rather have Obama for a second term than anyone who will actually dismantle federal power.

Thief armed with hatchet chops off Fred Meyer security guard’s ear. This is a case in point proving the need for situational awareness at all times. Just imagine being at Wal-Mart with your wife and tots, and someone starts slinging a hatchet. You’ll have to get your loved ones to cover in a hurry. We have a bank run in Latvia. Now, don’t think it can’t happen here. Remember the S&L collapse? Remember the housing market collapse? Remember the Great Depression? Remember the Knickerbocker bank and the Panic of 1907? Be prepared…….. In Hollywood Tyler Brehm was bummed about his girlfriend breaking up with him, so he started randomly shooting at cars and pedestrians. Unarmed citizens were helpless against the armed gunman — he was stopped by armed police………. Copper thieves in Dallas are breaking into gun-free zones — schools…… The TSA continues to terrorize fliers, in this case allegedly strip-searching a woman whom they suspected was guilty of the horrendous crime of carrying a money belt…………… Meanwhile, the First Lady sets a new record for the most people doing jumping jacks.

Life goes on.
