22 April 2010

Wholesale prices rise “more than expected” in March — Food prices jumped the most in 26 years, but I predict that inflation will hold off a while longer while consumers hold on to their dollars. It’ll take awhile before they realize their money is losing value; then they’ll dump the dollars in exchange for commodities, resulting in inflation.

12 April 2010

Conservatism takes the lead in Florida senate raceFlorida governor Crist angered conservatives with his support for Obama’s so-called “stimulus” package, which is really just another big-government boondoggle. Lesson learned — conservatives are sick and tired of big-gov spending.

9 April 2010

Gasoline prices on the rise — Because we can’t drill for oil that we have right here in our own country. Profits by domestic oil companies are evil; profits by middle-eastern oil barons are fine.

FDA to require nutrition labels on front of package – Because we’re too stoopid to flip the package and read the same thing on the back. Or sides. Or bottom. More dumb regs that will increase food costs.

7 April 2010

Man feeds bears, State profits — In our criminal justice system the state routinely profits from criminal behavior by levying fines. It’s just another tax. Follow the money.

“Islamic radicalism” now taboo — If they don’t acknowledge where the threats to our domestic security lie, how will they defend against them?

Here comes the VAT — Twisted minds never consider cutting spending to reduce the deficit. To them, it just doesn’t compute. You say “cut spending” and all they hear is static.

Rio rain: worst in history — You don’t expect to need a boat downtown Rio, but yesterday you would have been happy to have a snack and a Sport Berkey water bottle in your bugout bag.

3 April 2010

The Dependency Economy – 25% of salaries in the US are paid with tax dollars, not counting fringe benefits. Bear in mind that 42% of those tax dollars are actually borrowed, which means they’ll have to be paid (plus interest) with future tax increases. This blows my mind. No economy in history has ever sustained this for long.

2 April 2010

Propane explosion in Connecticut — Illustrating the case for learning how to administer first aid… to yourself, if necessary.

The Case Against Romney – Here Joe Farrah makes the case that it’s not enough to elect a Republican in 2012; we need to elect a staunch advocate of liberty.

Congressman Phil Hare, Democrat: The Constitution and the Declaration of Independence “doesn’t matter to me, either one.” — This is a man who swore to uphold the constitution, but now he openly rejects its restrictions. This is exactly what I predicted here.

31 March 2010

New England flooding drowns homes and dream — This is why you need to have a bug out bag ready to go… even if you think you’ll use your home as your bug out location.

“Christian” militia accused of plotting to kill cops — I don’t know about you, but I don’t see this in the Bible. What are these people thinking?? Use your weapons to resist mobs and criminals. When the government comes to take your guns, let them have them — you can’t win.

Big Pharma to dump experimental vaccines in public schools — What do you expect when the almighty State <grovelgrovel> controls the schools? No wonder people homeschool their kids.

23 March 2010

Health insurance “like Christmas” — brainwashed mobs put their faith in the almighty State.

IRS to enforce ObamaCare — here come the men in black, and they’re not here to help.

Another contaminated vaccine — see why some people want to choose whether to give their children a vaccine?

20 March 2010

Obama restores ACORN funding – that’s why he’s not worried about the elections in November. They’re going to steal the election with voter fraud.

18 March 2010

Muslim terrorists in your hometown — another reason to be prepared, to be vigilant at all times. No one can provide for the safety of your wife and children better than you. Read Tactical Thinking to learn how to be alert at all times.

17 March 2010

Pharmacies can’t afford to serve Medicaid patients — this is the kind of mess you can expect whenever the state takes over private-sector business. Expect lines, quotas, and corruption after Obamacare takes effect.

Climate scientists turn to tinsel town – Goofy science fantasy rescripted as a fairy tale in lala land. Based on an actual scam. Coming soon to public schools. Rated X for pervasive propaganda.

15 March 2010

Millions affected by Chilean power outage – If you were on the subway when this happened, would you have a flashlight in your everyday carry bag? Would you have what you need to get home?

Liberty Watch: Obama supports DNA sampling upon arrest — In some states they already mandate state-inflicted blood testing and medical treatment of newborns for various conditions, even if the parents believe the “treatments” are more harmful than the condition. Now they’ll be able to do the same to you. They’ll arrest you, take your DNA sample, and then “treat” you whether you like it or not, and regardless of whether they even charge you with a crime.

12 March 2010

States to withhold tax refunds – face it… we’re broke. Do you have your survival plan in place?

Australian floods to last months — 5500 calls for assistance in Melbourne alone. Imagine having to depend on their response time. No, instead you should learn what to do in case of flood.

Nobody cares about privacy anymore — don’t get me wrong; I advocate openness and accountability. It makes better citizens. But that openness must be vis-a-vis peers (family and community), and not an almighty state that wants to track all your movements (see “black box” story below).

Government considers “black box” for all new vehicles — naturally, they’ll justify it for “safety.” Soon they’ll be able to track everywhere you drive.

11 March 2010

Venezuela murder rate quadrupled under Chavez — that’s what happens when citizens have no way to defend themselves against criminals.

Second Amendment shows signs of life — several states have passed or introduced Firearms Freedom Acts, telling the federal government to take its regs and shove’em. Get ready for a legal showdown.

Largest monthly budget deficit in history — only the government can say with a straight face that the way to get out of debt is to borrow more money. Read this SNO post to understand why the government — democrats and republicans — are perfectly happy to increase the national debt.

US constitutional processes critically injured – in order to nationalize health insurance the Democrats are willing to slay constitutional rules of legislation. Your liberties are bleeding out even faster than I expected.

Gov’t workers insulated from economic swings — because government spending bears no relation to free market economics, government wages and benefits bear no relation to the worker’s value. Read this article and note that government benefits are underfunded by $3 trillion — we’re broke!

9 March 2010

Pelosi: We have to pass the health care bill so you can see what’s in it — wait… what did she say???

Barcelona: biggest snowfall in 25 years – Stuck on a train in a blizzard. Better have a snack and some water in that everyday carry bag. Are you ready?

Nationalizing health insurance; a fat check for the insurance companies – If you bought Whatever Happened to Penny Candy? then you understand that government handouts to individuals are a welfare program, and handouts to businesses are a subsidy. The question is, why subsidize the very businesses Obama criticizes for all its profits? Because he doesn’t really care about their profits. It’s just a ploy to shut up their opposition and dupe you into supporting a government takeover of health insurance. His real objective? Power.

Feds may ban citizens from fishing in US waters — Environmentalist groups dominated the federal Interagency Ocean Policy Task Force, which is expected to recommend that the president close US waters to recreational fishing by executive order (like a dictator) instead of by legislative act. Your liberties are dwindling fast.

8 March 2010

Once-a-century flooding after years of drought — Small communities in Southern Australia are cut off as a huge storm brings floods to an area that has suffered drought for almost a decade. An emergency stock of food and clean water will come in handy until they repair the roads. Sadly, the Aussies have been disarmed, so if looters come they have no way to defend themselves.

5 March 2010

Looters rule after Chile’s massive quake — I can understand taking perishable food before it rots, but these people are helping themselves to TVs, stereos, and ATMs.

Patriots “a Cause for Grave Concern” – Watch how this works: If you oppose the soaring public debt, if you’re upset that government policy has led to a troubled economy, or if you call Obama’s policies “socialist” or “fascist,” then you’re a dangerous “right wing extremist” with a propensity to use violence, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center. They published a report called (I’m not kidding) “Rage on the Right.”

Airport Body Scans Remain Optional, Sort of — If you refuse the scan, you’ll get searched by hand.

Gov’t Promises Census Data Will Be Kept Private — Yeah, right.

Greece Cuts Budget, Violent Protests Follow — The mooches masses protest violently when the government umbilical cord is snipped. One day our entitlement government will go bankrupt; be ready for violent chaos.

Pentagon Shooter Brought Down by Armed Police — So if a madman starts shooting everyone in your office, would you be safer with a gun, or without one?

Real Unemployment Rate Rises to 16.8% — Of course, that’s not the headline; this particular detail is buried deep in the story, surrounded by fluff.

Federal Workers Paid More than Private in Same IndustryThe more they pay, the more will leave the private sector to feed at the federal trough — which you pay for in taxes or debt. Eventually the government is going to own everything, including your future.
