Good suggestions! Water - nothing beats a good hand operated well pump. Food - lots of dried rice & beans, wheat - can't have too much. Good supply of heirloom seeds! Reliable source of heat - cast iron woodstove with cooktop and plenty of seasoned wood covers almost all your needs! Tools - guns for defense and hunting, knives, gardening tools, axe, maul, chainsaw, etc. A few chickens and goats are all you need for eggs, meat, and milk.

Once you have these covered the rest is a bonus!!

Thanks for all your articles, I have read them all and suggested them to friends to read. I have been preparing now for several months and have made a great start. I even have a son in Hawaii who along with friends is preparing if the time should ever be with us.

Hello Snoman and thank you so much for your website. I sincerely appreciate your efforts and for being a very helpful resource for information as we prepare for the days ahead of us.
My question is about jobs that require travel. My job has morphed into one that requires about 30+% travel and I am very concerned that I may be out of town at one of our facilities when disaster strikes putting me & my family in a very awkward situation. I really enjoy my job as a mechanical designer for the last 25 years with the same company but I have been seriously considering one where there is no travel. Tonight I saw the NG Prepper program part 4 and the prepper gentlemen was in the same situation with traveling issues. He is now looking for another job that keeps him close to home. Do any thoughts or words of wisdom come to your mind regarding this?
Thanks again and may the King Jesus bless & prosper you & your family.
